STARVAC® 4 Plus
Starvac® 4 Plus is a four-way modified live vaccine (MLV) that can be administered to healthy cattle as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) Type 1 and 2, Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR), Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus (BRSV) and Parainfluenza Type 3 (PI3) viruses.
Starvac 4 Plus is a freeze-dried preparation of the MLV strains, plus a sterile liquid component used to rehydrate the freeze-dried vaccine. The modified virus strains in Starvac 4 Plus are propagated on a proprietary cell line, combined in the proper ratio, stabilized and dried for preservation.
Directions For Use
Rehydrate the freeze-dried vaccine with the diluent supplied, agitate until dissolved. Administer a 2 mL dose either under the skin or intramuscularly in the neck region. Immunization against BRSV requires a second dose of Starvac 4 Plus that should be given 14 to 28 days after the first dose. Annual revaccination is recommended. Calves vaccinated before weaning should be revaccinated 30 days after weaning when the possible influence of maternal antibodies is decreased.
Do not use this MLV in pregnant cows or in calves nursing pregnant cows. Abortions may result.
Pregnant cows and calves nursing pregnant cows should be vaccinated with Vira Shield® 6.
Starvac 4 Plus is available in 10 dose and 50 dose vials.
