FUSOGARD®

Footrot is an infectious cattle disease that causes swelling and lameness in one or more feet. Although the disease is rarely fatal, the economic losses from treatment, as well as the decrease in weight gain and reduced production potential can be substantial.

Fusobacterium necrophorum, the bacteria that causes footrot, cannot penetrate healthy intact skin, but can take advantage of abrasions or puncture wounds in the interdigital skin or near the feet. Whether on pasture or in confinement, cattle constantly encounter risk factors such as stones, frozen or dried mud, stubble or wet pens that can damage the integrity of the skin in the interdigital space.

Fusogard® is the first F. necrophorum vaccine developed and manufactured specifically for cattle.

Features

Effective, economical footrot protection

  • Helps combat clinical signs of footrot and liver abscesses caused by F. necrophorum
  • May reduce costs to treat footrot
  • Helps reduce the negative impact of footrot on productivity

Natural

  • Fusogard is an alternative for natural and organic beef and dairy producers because it’s not an antibiotic

Directions For Use

Vaccinate healthy cattle six months of age or older by administering a 2 mL dose under the skin. Administer a second dose 21 days later for footrot. Revaccinate annually or any time endemic conditions exist, exposure is imminent, or as recommended by your veterinarian.
